"taken down" the cryptocurrency platform ChipMixer, which had allegedly laundered more than 3 billion dollars, and charged its manager, who is of Vietnamese origin, with money laundering, as the US Department of Justice announced on Wednesday.
The platform, which operated on the darknet, laundered funds used for ransomware attacks and state-sponsored cryptocurrency heists, including from high-ranking North Korean government operatives, the ministry said in a statement.
Information indicates that investigations will also follow for other platforms with illegal activities.
