April 27, 2022. The first ETF to combine bitcoin and gold arrived in Europe - offering the dual perspective of long-term returns and protection against inflation, at least in theory.
According to Bloomberg, the innovative ETP, which has physical support, aims to combine "the best elements of the old and new world of finance" while betting on the power of gold to offset the risk in a portfolio and "robust Yields" of the most popular cryptocurrency, the issuers noted in an announcement.
The product is known as 21Shares ByteTree BOLD ETP.
It is offered through the Swiss provider Crypto ETP, 21Shares, and the British alternative investment provider ByteTree Asset Management, who also conceived the idea.
