Where smart money in Cryptocurrency investments is heading

 

The current state of cryptocurrencies reflects more than just the greedy trading of currencies. 

It has not been long since investments in cryptocurrencies were considered (and often rejected as) "specialized." However, in the summer of 2016, the value of all cryptocurrencies worldwide was just $ 10 billion.

 In the world's imagination, technology was linked to online drug trading and venture capital agreements.

Today is a different world: Anyone can buy cryptocurrencies using an account on the Robinhood platform. 

S&P 500 companies keep digital currencies on their balance sheets, and Bitcoin at $ 30,000 is now considered a severe case.

The current state of cryptocurrencies reflects more than just the greedy trading of currencies. 

The cryptocurrency and blockchain industries are maturing and becoming complex, and this development offers investors new perspectives, even when transactions are more firmly integrated into the wider financial world.

"There is a key awareness now that cryptocurrencies are more of an architecture and operating system and that all kinds of products and services can be created on top of cryptographic systems," says Andreessen Horowitz's general partner Katie Haun, who works with the renowned company. For knowledgeable investors, such products and services represent the next step. Venture capital companies have invested $ 17 billion in cryptocurrencies from the beginning of the year to mid-June and are diversifying the types of blockchain-related investments.

Andreessen recently raised $ 2.2 billion for a new cryptocurrency investment fund - the third and most significant to date. 

Haun says the market for interchangeable digital media, or NFT, is in the spotlight. NFTs allow creators to transform digital media, ranging from works of art and sports appearances to video game images, into collectible, marketable products.

The company's recent NFT bets include a $ 100 million $ 1.5 billion NFT OpenSea turnover cycle and an investment in Virtually Human Studio, which runs a virtual game allowing users to buy, sell, sell, and breed digital racehorses.

Cryptocurrency investors see the NFT trend as an opportunity to be the first to enter an industry that could have a vast reach - such as the art market, but is more democratic and potentially much more significant.

"Anyone who missed the expansion and growth of Instagram and similar platforms ten years ago sees NFT as a new step they can take," said Craig Russo, director of innovation at digital asset investment firm Polyient.
